Project: Blackswarth Road, St George, Bristol – 68 residential units.
Issue: Discharge of a pre-commencement planning condition requiring a noise climate assessment of the site following cessation of the former concrete fabrication use.
Contribution: Kimber Acoustics carried out the initial noise survey within a very short timeframe, as there was a limited window before demolition commenced. The rapid turnaround allowed us to prepare the discharge of condition submission without delay.
Outcome: The survey results confirmed that no further acoustic mitigation was required. This placed us in a comfortable position when preparing and submitting the relevant planning information.

Project: Investigation into noise and vibration transmission from a gym within a residential building
Problem: Persistent and severe noise and vibration affecting a residential apartment, caused by the use of heavy gym equipment. The issue had not been resolved through prior engagement with the building management company.
Contribution: Kimber Acoustics carried out a detailed on-site investigation and produced a clear, technically robust report identifying the root cause of the issue. The analysis was well-evidenced, professionally presented, and completed within a short timeframe.
Outcome: The report enabled the management company to take decisive action, including the removal of the offending equipment. The noise and vibration issue was fully resolved.
