We undertake noise assessments and surveys to understand how existing and proposed noise sources may affect a development, or how a proposed use may affect its surroundings. This work commonly supports planning applications, condition discharge, and design decisions where noise is a material consideration.
Projects range from new residential development near roads, railways, or industrial activity, through to proposals involving new plant, commercial operations, or entertainment uses. Our assessments identify baseline noise conditions, predict future impacts, and inform proportionate mitigation and design measures that satisfy planning and regulatory requirements.
What We Do
Our noise assessments and surveys work includes:
BS 8233 assessments to evaluate how transportation and environmental noise will affect internal noise levels, informing façade sound insulation, glazing, and ventilation strategy.
BS 4142 assessments to assess the impact of new or modified noise-generating equipment, plant, or industrial activity on neighbouring uses, including measurement, prediction, and mitigation design.
BS 5228 assessments for construction and demolition activities, providing prediction and mitigation advice to manage noise impacts on nearby sensitive receptors.
Entertainment noise assessments for pubs, clubs, and outdoor events, covering measurement, assessment, and the design of operational noise control measures such as limiters, building envelope treatments, and glazing upgrades.
