Noise Surveys & Noise Assessments
Environmental Noise Assessment
Kimber Acoustics provides noise surveys and assessments to understand how existing and proposed noise sources may affect a development, and how a proposed use may affect its surroundings. This work commonly supports planning applications, condition discharge, BS 8233 assessment, BS 4142 assessment and design decisions where noise is a material consideration.
Projects range from new residential development near roads, railways or industrial activity, through to proposals involving new plant, commercial operations or entertainment uses. Our assessments identify baseline noise conditions, predict future impacts, and inform proportionate mitigation and design measures that satisfy planning and regulatory requirements.
Noise Surveys and Assessment Services
Our noise assessments and surveys work can include:
BS 8233 assessments for residential and mixed-use development, including external noise surveys, internal noise criteria, façade sound insulation, glazing and ventilation strategy.
BS 4142 assessments for new or modified plant, commercial operations and industrial activity, including baseline noise measurement, impact assessment and mitigation design.
BS 5228 assessments for construction and demolition works, including prediction of construction noise, vibration risk and mitigation measures for nearby sensitive receptors.
Entertainment noise assessments for pubs, clubs, events and leisure uses, including noise measurement, operational controls, limiters, building envelope treatment and glazing upgrades.
BREEAM Hea 05 and Pol 05 assessments at design and commissioning stages, covering indoor ambient noise, sound insulation, reverberation and building services noise emissions.
