Commissioning & Acoustic Testing BREEAM assessment

BREEAM Assessment Acoustic Compliance

Commissioning and acoustic testing provide independent verification that completed buildings perform as intended and comply with planning, Building Regulations, and sustainability requirements. This stage is critical for sign-off, handover, and demonstrating that acoustic commitments made during design have been delivered in practice.

We undertake acoustic testing and commissioning across a range of building types to verify sound insulation, internal noise levels, and building services performance. Testing is planned and undertaken to provide clear, defensible evidence for Building Control approval, planning condition discharge, and third-party certification.

Where required, we also support BREEAM acoustic assessments, providing the measurement, analysis, and reporting needed to demonstrate compliance with relevant credits. Our involvement at this stage helps identify issues early, avoid delays to completion, and support proportionate remedial action where performance falls short.

What We Do

Our commissioning and acoustic testing work includes:

  • Pre-completion sound insulation testing of walls and floors to verify compliance with Building Regulations and design targets.

  • Internal noise level testing for occupied spaces, including assessment of building services noise during operation.

  • Acoustic testing to support BREEAM credits, including assessment of sound insulation, reverberation, and internal noise criteria.

  • Witnessing and verification testing where independent confirmation of performance is required for regulators, clients, or third-party assessors.
